According to
scientific calculation, the average body mass index of a normal person, which
is the ratio of the length and weight of the human being, is considered to be
an average 22.5 kilogram per meter square. If it increases to 32.5, then that
person is called fat. After that, obesity increases with the increase of BMI.
According to this calculation, the 14 year old Mihir Jain's BMI had reached 92.
That is, he had become the heaviest child in the world.
The doctor
was shocked
In India,
the weight of Mihir Jain, a resident of West Delhi, had reached 237 kilograms
in just 14 years. For this reason, the family took him to Max Hospital in Saket
in Delhi, where the doctors were surprised to see his obesity. After this the
doctors decided that his gastric bypass surgery should be done. However, this
was quite a challenge. Earlier, when Mihir was shown to the doctors in 2010,
the doctors refused to undergo surgery due to his low age. According to
doctors, Mihir, who took this surgery, was the world's heaviest child and it
was a very difficult task as to how an elderly child would be given anesthesia.
This was also a challenge.
Birth was
normal
Family
members say that in 2003, at the time of birth, the weight of Mihir was 2.5 kgs
like normal children, but with the increase in age, it increased to the
hazardous extent. By five years it reached 60 to 70 kg and in 14 years it
became 237 kg. Without help, he could not stand and was lying on the bed. He had
to leave the school for a few years, as he could not walk and play.
Successful
surgery
However,
Mihir's successful gastric bypass surgery was done in the past few days, and
now its weight has become normal. The procedure of the treatment lasted several
stages. As in the first phase, pasta and pizza-savvy Mihir's diets were
controlled by reducing it from 2,500 calories to 800 calories. Thereby
decreasing its weight by about 10 kg after this, his successful surgery was
done. Now Mihir is normal and has been discharged from the hospital.
